2004-02-02 - 1:59 p.m. The Pats won the Super Bowl!!! There were riots at Kenmore! People set things on fire! As a temporary Bostonian, I’m supposed to be happy and use lots of exclamation points! Moving on… Ah, another week, another decently hectic schedule. Actually, I’ve got a fair amount of time to lounge around and do all my assigned readings. So I lounge around, oversleep occasionally, and get my reading done when I have the least amount of time to do it. I love being in college. I went to get my pinky x-rayed last week. Turns out it’s not broken. This, of course, is good. However, there’s a little bump in my pinky now, and there’s still this red mark from where the door closed on it, and seeing as this all happened in early December, I’m thinking that that’s not normal. So it’s back to Student Health again at some point today. I think they’re starting to recognize me by now… I also applied for my passport last week too. Do you know how much those damn things cost these days? $85! I understand how the State Department would want a decent fee, but does the Post Office really deserve a $30 “processing fee?” Oy. Anyways, I should get it in a month to six weeks. Naturally my Spring Break starts in five weeks, so there’s no chance in hell I can join a group of friends who plan on going to Rome for Break (courtesy of our on-campus travel agency). Speaking of Spring Break though, I think I’m just going to stay on campus. Sure, I could spend a bunch of money and go somewhere warm and there spend even more money on partying every night, but on my breaks all I ever really want to do is lay around and watch tv. If I do spend Break at school, I can certainly lounge all I want, though I’ll still be cable-free. I’ll probably wind up doing a lot of reading instead though, which is always good. I never seem to do any pleasure reading anymore. The Samurai lent me Thank You Comrade Stalin, which looks really cool, but I don’t really have time to read it. I also don’t seem to have a whole lot of time to play with my guitar. For someone who has all this time to fiddle around online and to hang out with friends and/or fencers, I sure get very little done. I know I’m lazy, but I guess I’m a lot lazier than I thought. Humph. Ooh, The Samurai lent me a Soviet flag which is now hanging on my closet door. I’m such a commie. :-) Hmm…nothing much else to report. Off to do some reading I suppose.
